Infused Facial Honey- Beautifying Cleanser & Mask
Using honey on the skin is one of the most beautifying experiences you will ever have. It firms, draws moisture to the skin, is anti-inflammatory and ant-bacterial and thanks to its naturally occurring gluconic acid, it breaks down the most hardened debris on the surface, exfoliating like nothing else but in the gentlest way imaginable leaving your skin so kissably soft.
However sweet honey is, sourcing it is a responsibility we take very seriously and with standards rarely seen in the beauty and food industries. We share this with you hoping you will to do the same. Elisha became aware of the honeybee’s plight and the Colony Collapse Disorder that is affecting her health and the ultimate survival of an entire species, one that is also so preciously connected to the future of our own human experience. We would be crazy not to have her back!
Elisha immediately dived in head-first to learn everything she could about how to best protect our honeybee’s interests (and other pollinators) and not contribute to her already immense burden and she was led to the Backwards Beekeepers, a group of treatment-free beekeepers in Los Angeles whose founder Kirk Anderson became her mentor, along with so many other masters like Dee Lusby and Ceebs Bailey. For over a year they went to hive visits, honey harvests, out of state conferences and monthly meetings. What she came to know pretty quick was that treatment-free honey and most any urban farm honey was the only honey to ever participate in and support. These are the most thoughtful and sustainable ways to keep bees and, interestingly enough, they rarely experience diseased, infiltrated and sick hives. More often than not, theirs are thriving year after year with not a sign of slowing down.

APPLICATION: Prep skin with hot washcloth prior to using honey. Hold compress for a few seconds and then wipe entire face, repeating this two more times. Then, on warm but not wet skin, massage a quarter size amount into your skin, making sure to pay attention to areas that feel more congested. Take your time and with a warm washcloth, wipe honey off the face and then rinse off what is left. Pat skin dry, mist with Pampered pH and apply your favorite Elique crème or facial oil.
TO MASK: Follow same process except scoop out a tad less and after applying and massaging into the skin, leave on for at least 15-20 minutes. With a warm washcloth, wipe honey off the face, rinsing off what is left. Pat skin dry, mist with Pampered pH and apply your favorite Elique crème.
